Floor Life is the maximum time a moisture-sensitive device (MSD) can be exposed to ambient conditions after removal from its MBB moisture barrier bag. Different MSL levels have different Floor Life limits; for example, MSL 3 allows 168 hours. Once Floor Life is exceeded, moisture absorbed by the component can vaporize during reflow soldering, causing cracking, delamination, solder defects, or even total product failure. NEO LIGHT MBB automatically starts the Floor Life countdown the moment an MBB bag is unsealed, monitors each reel’s exposure time in real time, and triggers automatic alerts before expiration to prevent non-compliant parts from reaching the line.
